A sea of multicolored shirts gathered in the shaded amphitheater Sunday morning for a uniquely impactful Worship Service, embodying the religious core of the YMCA. “[The service] made me look at the beauty in the nature around me and the people I meet and taught me to embrace their differences,” stated Abby Rime from Minnesota.

While the service was structured around a Christian message, each lesson was delivered with the intent to unite the delegates as the young leaders of America under the Blue Ridge Spirit. With members of most delegations attending, the ceremony accurately represented what a melting pot of CONA is, aided by the beautiful worship songs, an inspirational homily from Florida’s Glory McClure, and scripture readings. “It was beautiful how the service was aimed to each individual but yet very open all the same,” reflected Rime.
